BY OUR CELEBRITY REPORTER

Mallus of the world, rejoice! Parvathy Omanakkuttan, one of your kind has won the coveted title of Miss India World, the same crown once worn by Aishwarya Rai, before she went on to become Miss World.

At a function in Mumbai, Parvathy Omanakkuttan, a Malayali girl hailing from Kerala's Kottayam district was crowned the queen of Miss India World contest. She's just 20. Not surprising, we've been doing well at everything 20-20 these days. However, when its comes to her vital stats, she's a smashing 32-27-36. Now, dear fellow Malayalis, lets raise a toast to that. Omanakkuttan stands 5' 8.5" tall. That's enough to give a complex to many of my fellow Mallus I guess.

The author of this article humbly informs readers that he belongs to the SAME district as the Awesome Omanakkuttan. For your kind viewing pleasure, kindly turn your eyes to the photos, images and pictures of Parvathy Omanakkuttan alongside this article.

Parvathy Omanakkuttan's professed hobbies - real or not - include listening to music, dancing, glass painting, reading, playing basketball and badminton. Whatever.

Before she was selected to be among the candidates for the Miss India World contest, Parvathy Omanakkuttan had won her entry to the short list at a contest at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre.

Parvathy Omanakuttan pictureA couple of years back, she won the prize of Navy Queen 2006 by the Southern Navel ..oops Naval Command. Nothing surprising!

One of the questions posed to her & the others during the contest was: “The rate of divorce in India is on a rise. What is the cause? Is western influence the cause or something else?”

And what did our damsel say?

"Divorces are not a result of western influence. At the end of the day, it is we who decide whose (sic) worth us. Marriage is not when one completes the other but is when both share their completeness."

We are speechless with admiration at the mind-blowing answer. However, we would add with dry throats that the tremendous beauty and intelligence (rare combination!!) like you see in Parvathy Omanakkuttan, may perhaps also be the cause of increasing divorces in India. Well, we could be wrong, too.

Another question she faced with immense courage:

Rina Dhaka to Parvathy Omanakkuttan:

Q. What’s the nicest gift a woman can give a man?

A. The best gift a woman can ever give a man is the birth of a child with all her compassion and patience.

The answer has right away melted all the stony hearts at DWS editorial headquarters. She instantaneously became our omanakutti here.

Now, let's cheer Parvathy as she moves to the next world stage! The Miss World Contest!
